Omnideck Installed at Institute of Transportation Systems DLR
Omnifinity is honoured to unveil our latest installation of an Omnideck system at the Mosaic Lab in Braunschweig, Germany — Institute of Transportation Systems of the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
To investigate the traffic system in all its complexity, it is elementary to take all participants into account, including pedestrians and cyclists, the so-called Vulnerable Road Users (VRU). Therefore, the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems has developed and built a pedestrian and a bike simulator that allows them to integrate the VRUs into interactive human-in-the-loop simulations to be able to answer up-to-date research questions.
This complements the existing MoSAIC laboratory, which is now able to connect pedestrians, bicyclists and up to three-car drivers into one simulation to investigate and evaluate individual behaviour, communication in between road users and design aspects of cooperative Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
We are very excited about the project and are looking forward to contributing to their research.
