TU Graz – Immersive Computing Lab
Omnifinity is proud to collaborate with TU Graz and support their cutting-edge research at the Immersive Computing Lab, part of the Human-Centered Computing Labs. The Omnideck, our advanced omnidirectional treadmill, is a key component of the lab’s innovative research into virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and robotics.
Pioneering Research in Virtual Environments
The Immersive Computing Lab at TU Graz is at the forefront of VR and AR research, exploring new ways to interact with and navigate digital spaces. Our Omnideck enhances this exploration by allowing users to move naturally in any direction within a virtual environment while remaining stationary in the physical world. This unique capability enables realistic simulations and immersive experiences that are crucial for studying human behaviour and developing new technologies.
Applications Beyond Virtual Reality
Beyond traditional VR and AR applications, the Omnideck at TU Graz plays an instrumental role in research involving robotics and remote sensing. The lab uses our treadmill to allow researchers to control robots in remote or hazardous environments, navigating these spaces safely through a virtual interface. This innovative approach opens new possibilities for exploration, monitoring, and intervention in areas that would otherwise be inaccessible or dangerous.
A Shared Vision for Innovation
Omnifinity and TU Graz share a commitment to advancing technology and expanding the possibilities of virtual environments. We are excited to see the Omnideck contribute to the university’s pioneering work in human-centred computing and look forward to the groundbreaking discoveries and developments that will emerge from this collaboration.
